Paula Reining 1955-2025
Paula Gay Reining, 70 years old, of SilverLake, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on October 31, 2025, after fighting an intense battle with stage IV cancer for only five short months.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, on August 27, 1955, to the Late Thomas and Betty Reining (Andrea).
Paula graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1973 and worked for Dr. Dominick Adornato for 24 years. He was more than a boss to her; he became a close family friend, and she very much cherished her job.
Paula was a free spirit; no one she met was a stranger. She loved to travel and go shopping; she loved working out in the yard, and she always had the best outlook on every situation. She cared very deeply for her friends and family and did so until the end. She will be remembered for being a loving and caring person.
Paula is preceded in death by her mother and father, Betty and Thomas Reining, and by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Shirley and Charles Cheyfitz.
She was survived by her beloved partner, Jay Cheyfitz, of 35+ years, and their dog, Daisy. Her eight siblings also survived her. Brad Reining, Heather Reining, Paulette Wolfe, Scott Reining, Sue Moran, Andrea Fisher, Janeane Reining, and Charlane (Chris) Lambacher. Her favorite cousin Cindy Bailey. Also, her brother-in-law, Eddie (Kathy) Cheyfitz, and sister-in-law, Caryn (Scott) Bodfish.
Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews also survived her, including great nieces and nephews, Cailey Wolfe, Carson Hayth, Kamrin Hayth, Jeniele (Brian) Hayth, Gabrielle (Zack) Ragle, Layla Raglue, Brittany Reining, Christian Lambacher, Nicholas Lambacher, Lauren (Ross) DiBelio, Marcus DiBelio, Jeffery (Amy) Skaggs, Matthew Skaggs, Aleana Skaggs, Nathan Skaggs, and Jaret (Andrea) Skaggs. Andy Cheyfitz (deceased), Katie (Brian) Eichenauer, Andrew Eichenauer, Autumn Eichenauer, Maeryn Eichenauer, Emily Bodfish, Cody Humehoynewa, Imana Humehoynewa, Miranda Bodfish (James Herndon), Cyrus Herndon, Amir Herndon. She loved each of them with her whole heart and cherished every relationship.
