Sis. Paulette (Viola) Tomlin was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 15th 1951 to Viola Hardge & George Bohannen. She attended the
Cleveland Municipal School District, where she experienced the majority of her education, and continued to be an advocate for higher
education for her grandchildren.
Sis. Tomlin experienced the power of salvation during her middle years; she was baptized and saved under the pastorate of Elder WL
Pope, where she thrived and grew in her faith. She was a lover of God’s Word, and was known for her passion and faithful attendance
in Sunday School. Sis.Tomlin didn’t mind letting anyone know about her faith; she was known for her praise and worship. She loved
her church and made one of the first major purchases; paying for a badly damaged curtain partition that grace this church for over 30
years, and just recently, removed during Benevolent’s recent renovations. She was a giver, she championed others less fortunate. We
witnessed her in the community, speaking to the homeless and those who were substance abused; she had a way of speaking and
communicating to them that calm them, allowing church officials to understand their needs, and help.
Be it known to everybody and anybody who came in contact with Paulette Tomlin; she was a “MOMMA BEAR!” She loved her cubs; she
fiercely protected her children and grandchildren! She was super close to her family and they were very close to her. She made sure
they were cared for; making sure they went to the doctor; attending to school functions, advocating and providing for them.
