Pauline “Gainer” Moore was born on November 16,1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to Donald Gainer Sr. (deceased) and Ruth “Smith” Gainer (deceased). Pauline was the third of six siblings, sister Jeanette Shy (deceased), brother Donald Gainer Jr, brother Arthur Gainer (deceased), Larry Gainer and Charles Gainer.
Pauline was educated in the Cleveland Public School System. A graduate of East Technical High School Class of 1961, Pauline was a member of the A cappella Choir, the School Club Affiliate and a Cheerleader. Pauline was also a graduate of Moody Bible College earning a certificate in Christian Education.
Pauline accepted Jesus Christ at an early age while attending Second New Hope Baptist Church. As an adult, Pauline was a member of Greater Peace Missionary Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher, Youth Choir Director and active supporting the Youth Department. After departing Greater Peace, Pauline joined St. Timothy Missionary Baptist Church where the late Tyree Williams was Pastor.
Pauline chose a career working in the auto industry retiring from General Motors after 30 years of service. She started her career with General Motors working at the Fisher Body plant and then later transferred to the Parma plant.
The Lord called Pauline home on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. She leaves to mourn in her passing son Jonathan H. Moore, daughter Keisha T. Shaw and son-in-law Alcindor L. Shaw, and son Derek S. Moore; grandchildren Alcindor L. Shaw II, Kendall A. Moore and Jasmin A. Moore, cherished niece Monique Toppin and nephew Russell Toppin, nephew Don Gainer, other nieces and nephews, cousin Phyllis Pratt and a host of special friends, relatives and friends.
