Perry Tyrone Wilson, 80, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, on April 20, 2026. His presence will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
Born on June 19, 1945, in Akron, Ohio, Perry was the son of Perry C. and Mary H. Wilson. He grew up rooted in family and community, values that would guide him throughout his life.
Perry was a proud graduate of Buchtel High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army, earning the National Defense Service Marksman Medal.
Following his military service, he built a dedicated career spanning more than 20 years with BF Goodrich, where his strong work ethic and commitment were evident to all who worked alongside him.
A man of many joys, Perry had a special love for animals and found happiness in their companionship. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor, often bringing laughter and light to those around him.
Music was another of his passions, providing the soundtrack to many cherished moments in his life, including time spent with his close-knit group of friends, the “Friday Nighters”. Above all, Perry will be remembered as a hardworking man who cared deeply for his family.
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, Perry C. and Mary H. Wilson, and his sisters, Vera Jean Wilson-Linscomb and Joetta Wilson.
He leaves to cherish his daughter, Rebecca; granddaughter, Ashlyne; nieces, Heather and Nicole; nephews, Richard, Todd, and Micheal; along with a host of extended family members and dear friends who will continue to honor his legacy.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Davette Klause and the entire staff at Hickory Ridge Nursing & Rehab Center and also Bella Care Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
Public Viewing will be held Thursday, 30th of April, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Stewart & Calhoun.
