Phillip G Jones Jr. affectionately known as “Scooter” was born on September 29,1971 in Cleveland, OH, to Phillip G Jones Sr. and Tamra Parrish. He transitioned on October 4, 2023.

Scooter accepted Christ at an early age. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Despite the adversities of life, he always believed in giving God praise. As a result, it was evident to see the manifestation of God’s grace in his life.

Scooter attended St. Joseph High School; and he graduated in 1989. In 1990 he entered the United States Army. During the duration of his commitment, he earned numerous medals. After serving three years of active duty, he was honorably discharged in 1993.

He had an impeccable work ethic. He was employed with Nestle while maintaining a lucrative landscaping business.

Scooter cherished family deeply and was a great host. He was easily known as the life of the party. Truth be told he was the party, there was never a dull moment. His home became a gathering place for countless family functions. From growing up as a kid on “Berwick” to “Bedrock Lounge” he was sure to create lasting memories.

He enjoyed coaching, sports, cooking, driving his corvette and traveling. Fun times included him preparing hibachi on the Blackstone, an intense game of LCR, paired with a cold bud light and heavy trash talk. Playing his favorite songs and proudly dancing offbeat. He had a two-step like no other. He was also a true Browns fan, and the ultimate “Tailgating King”!

Scooter was a very proud father and grandfather. He loved his children and grandchildren immensely! He often referred to his daughters as his “Big Babies” and the younger one as his “PRINCESS”. Additionally, he was a father figure to many others whom he loved. All his grandchildren cherished Pa Pa dearly. He was a true kid at heart, and it showed in his gift giving. He loaded the kids up for Christmas each year. He would actively engage in backyard fun on the bounce house, trampoline and in the pool with them. His sense of humor, big heart and kind soul will be missed.

Scooter was preceded in death by his son Jamal Jones, brother Gerard Jones Sr. father Phillip Jones Sr., grandfather Phillip L Jones, grandmother Georgia Dade, and honorary father Donald Jones. Left to cherish his memory are his mother’s: Tamra Parrish, Yvette Jones Petty (Nick), Children: Jasmine, DaNisha, Phillip “Tre” (Amanda), Tia (Joshua), Tiona (Willie), Raquel “Rocki” (Shakir), and Ainayla. Grandchildren: Willow, Za’Kir, Jordin, Jayden, Joshua Jr., Zyan, Alayia, Janelle and Jaylani. God Children: Phillip “PJ”, Kylee and Mikinzi. His siblings: Lakisha (Mike), Nancy, Glenn, Glynae (Travis), Jermaine (Lauren), Nylauna, Nicole, Honorary brother: Nathaniel “Nate” and a host family and friends.
