Phyllis Y. Oliver (Byrd), 71 made her transition on March 29, 2019. She was born on October 14, 1947 and was loved by all who knew her.
She received her education through the Akron Public School system and attended the University of Akron, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Phyllis was employed at the Summit County Community Action Council (CAC) for several years, retiring in 2013.
Phyllis was a faithful Christian and dutiful member of Peoples Baptist Church for many years providing service through the nurse’s ministry. She later attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert L. Golson, Senior Pastor.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Allene Carter-Byrd and sister, Patricia A. Byrd (Patty Byrd) and brother-in-law Willie Yancey.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving son; Anthony D. Oliver; daughter, Narkettah Oliver; sister, Jackie Byrd Yancey; grandchildren, Phillipe L. Tyson and Antoine D. Oliver; two lovely great-granddaughters, a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends; special friends, Deborah (Bo) Johnson and Esther Thompson.
Phyllis will continue to shine through her loving family and friends.
