Plez (Pete) Donald beloved son of Jack and Hattie Donald was born in Cleveland, Ohio on October 20, 1955. He was the youngest of six children. From a young age, Pete attended Day Spring Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor S. Simmons where he grew up anchored in the word of Christ. He accepted Jesus as his lord and savior.
Pete attended Cleveland Public Schools and was a proud graduate of East High. After graduation, he accepted a position at LTV Steel where he served in multiple positions for over thirty years until retirement.
Pete had a calm and quiet demeanor. He had a quick wit and great sense of humor. He was a courageous, hardworking, and giving person. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Pete was a lover of music both jazz and gospel. One of his favorite jazz songs was Roof Garden by Al Jarreau and one of his favorite gospel songs was Hello Mother by the Canton Spirituals. He also loved sports, bowling and most importantly family. He was especially supportive of his nieces and nephews offering words of wisdom without judgement and celebrating their accomplishments. Pete was most proud of his pride and joy – Terrence – his only son. He was loved by his neighbors in Twinsburg where he resided.
Pete was proceeded in death by his loving parents Jack and Hattie Donald; Sister Lois; Brother Joseph and nephew Joseph Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted son Terrence; Two sisters Lettie and Ruth and one brother Jack (Donna). Eight nieces – Marvella, Sandee, Angela, Marlo, Monique, Jacquise, Marchelle and Alexis. One nephew – Jack; Four great nieces Lashanita, Marte’ka, Lar’Rysa and Ay’Sia; Three great nephews Lester, Larry and Jackrell; Special sisters Beverly Thomas and Angela Step; Childhood friends Curtis Grace, Minister Robert Jones and Rudolph Harris who proceeded him in death. He remained close to his cousins The Gulley’s and many others.
Pete departed this life on February 14, 2022, at Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital.
