Raegan Ranea Howze-Thornton, affectionately known as Rae Rae, was born on September 21, 2002, to her parents, Ranatta Howze and Stevie Thornton. Being a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, Raegan attended Akron Public Schools and graduated from Ellet High School in 2021.
Raegan was a young Christian lady who loved God. In her free time, she loved to dance and swim. Anyone who knows Raegan would agree that she was most certainly a fashionista! She also loved to listen to music; Rae had an old soul and could be listening to old or new school music. Late at night, she would find comfort in sucking her tongue and rubbing someone else’s elbow.
The angels began to sing on July 28, 2022, as our awesome God reached forth and gently took Raegan’s hand to lead her to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Mary Pearl Thornton; great-grandmother, Annie Mae Hill; great-grandparents, Sammy J. Howze, Sr., and Sarah F. Howze; uncle, Mack Thornton; great cousins, Sharon and Marvin Hill; great uncles, Sammy, Jr., Daniel, and Michael Howze; great aunts, Gwendolyn Harvey and Helen Irene Davis.
Left to rejoice in her loving memory, her parents, Ranatta Howze, and Stevie Thornton; grandparents, Rosemary Turner, and James Trice; sister, Re’Ana Gadson-Howze; aunts, Annett Copeland, Lillie Robins, and Simone Trice; uncles, BiJon (Tania) Trice, John (Paula) Thornton, and Leonard (Nicha) Jones; great aunt, Minister Sandra Howze; great uncle, Waymond Howze-Heard; as well as a host of special cousins and friends who held a special place in her heart.
