Rama Barnwell was born in Blountsown, Florida on December 30,1948 to the late James and Johnnie Barnwell. Rama accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age while attending the Saint Mary Baptist Church of Blountstown, Florida. His family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1956. Rama Barnwell was born in Blountsown, Florida on December 30,1948 to the late James and Johnnie Barnwell. Rama accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age while attending the Saint Mary Baptist Church of Blountstown, Florida. His family relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1956. Rama joined Friendship Baptist Church until 1970. He joined Lily Baptist Church where his Dad was called to Pastor.
Rama moved to the west coast to further his education. He received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Arts and Criminal Justice on August 21,1981 from San Diego State University. He loved school. On May 16,1991, Rama received a Master’s Degree in Public Health from San Jose State University. He later went to study for his PhD; however, health issues had begun.
Many family members are left behind tp cherish his memories. Sister, Audrey Brandon; Brother, Pastor James C. Barnwell Jr. (Ruthie), Pastor Joe A. Barnwell (Pearl) of Baltimore, Maryland. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
