Mr. Reginald Eugene Frierson was born to Wilbur and Sallie Frierson on April 26, 1960 in Nashville, Tennessee in Davidson County. Reginald was the eighth of thirteen children. His parents relocated the family to Cleveland, OH in 1963, where Reginald attended Cleveland Public Schools. His personality was evident from the start. One day my mother laid him on the bed to attempt to change his diaper, but he wouldn’t be still because he was dancing to Chubby Checkers song “The Twist.” This is symbolic of my brother’s overall personality. He loved music right from the start.
Reginald was a fun-loving outgoing person. He loved his family deeply and always had a way of lifting your spirits. He had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing duets with his brothers. He loved old school R&B and love ballots. Some of his favorite artist were Teddy Pendergrass, The Intruders and The Delfonics. His laugh was infectious, his spirit was kind and he was one of the strongest people I ever met. He was a protector, who always looked out for the people he loved. He was the symbol of strength in his family and to those who knew him. He loved to meditate and pray. He had a way of encouraging others even when he himself was going through rough times. If you had a chance to meet him, he was somebody you would never forget. He loved to write and being a kidney transplant survivor, he was passionate about The American Kidney Foundation. He loved LIFE. Reginald to us your family, you were a Giant and we will continue to carry this love for you in our hearts. Reginald loved his children and was crazy about his seven grandchildren that he spoke of all the time. His grandchildren were the joy of his heart.
He leaves behind eight siblings: Reverend Yvonne Jackson, Atlanta, GA, Wilbur Frierson (Cindy) Cleve, OH, JoAnn Frierson Cleve, OH, Donita Jeffries, West Palm Beach, FL, Fletcher Frierson, Cleve, OH, Sallie Frierson Hart (James), Bedford Heights, OH, Ann Amato, Philadelphia, PA and Michael Frierson, Cleve, OH. Five children: Reginald Williams, Darlwyn Huston, Dominique A. Huston, Doron A. Huston, and D’Vari M. McCrimon. Seven grandkids: KeAndre Graves, TyJana Williams, Reginald Williams Jr., Rhianna Williams, Ty’leaha Williams, Keshaun Williams and India Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
He’s preceded in death by both parents Wilbur & Sallie Frierson, sisters Tiffany Frierson, Flectya Martin, Jacqueline Frierson, and Caroline Wright.
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor dept, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 NIV
