Renee Denise McCraney age 52, passed peacefully surrounded by family on May 2, 2023. She was born to Rachel McCraney and James “Po Boy” Ingram on October 10,1970 in Akron, Ohio.

Sister Renee McCraney was a member of the supreme council of the house of Jacob. She truly enjoyed all aspects of life. Raised by Mother Rachel and Sr. Deacon Henry McCraney to be confident, outgoing and to put family first. She loved spending time with her family especially her nieces and nephews whom she would frequently invite over to her home for weekend campouts, church and Sunday school.  She cultivated loving relationships everywhere and never met a stranger. Her positive energy entered a room before she did, and she was a bright light that will leave a void in this world for a very long time.

Renee is preceded in death by her beloved mother Rachel McCraney, her beloved Father, James “Po Boy” Ingram, her grandparents Ruth Ingram and Eddie Lee Ingram, Jacob Pearson Jr and Clarissa Garrett and sister Phyllis Shamburger.

Renee leaves behind to cherish her memory: her only daughter and light of her life – Shala McCraney, her pop Henry McCraney, her brothers James H. Ingram Jr. (Renee), Calvin James Ingram, Percy Ingram (Telisa), James Elijah Ingram, Joseph Ingram, Jacob Ingram. Her sisters, Huldah McCraney, Abigail McCraney, Ebony Ingram-Miller (Demetrius), Gertrude Palmer, Judy Ingram, Juanita Ingram, and Brenda Shackelford-Burrell. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, other relatives and friend.

A celebration of her life is scheduled for 1:00pm on May 13, 2023, at Stewart and Calhoun Funeral home located at 529 W. Thornton St. Akron, OH 44307.
