Rennie Jewel Franklin 84 of Akron, Ohio, passed away on June 6, 2018. She was born on March 31, 1934, in Clayton, AL.
Rennie was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church in Clayton, AL. She graduated from Barbour County Training School. After moving to Akron, she worked many years at Merryweather Foam Latex Inc. where she retired.
Rennie is survived by her children, Don (Evelyn) Franklin and Lynette Franklin both of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Kristen (Terna) Nande, Lauren Franklin, and Brandon Franklin all of Akron, OH; 6 great grandchildren; siblings, Annie Johnson, Carrie Higginbottom both of Akron, OH , Jimmy C. (Juanita) McElroy of Eufaula, AL and Pasay (Wade) Davidson of Ozark, AL; special nephews and niece, Collie (Shirley) Johnston, Eddie (Yvonne) Johnston, Diane (Bobby) Waters and James (Genice) Johnston and a host of dear family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Collie Johnston.
She is remembered as being strong willed, feisty and “sporty”.
