Reverend Dr. Jeremiah B. Pryce went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2017.
Rev. Dr. Pryce is survived by his beloved wife Juliet Lawrence Pryce RN, CNM, Manager, Quality Assurance Research HVI/Cardiovascular Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Father of two wonderful children Kerri-Simone (Dapo) Adedeji and Edmund Edison. Loving brother of Joyce, Fritz, Enos Lloyd, Caswall and Patrick. Grandfather of Aderemi and Adelola, both by Kerri-Simone.
The Reverend Dr. Jeremiah B. Pryce is the founding pastor of Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church.
Before becoming the founding pastor of Grace Tabernacle, Dr. Pryce served in various pastorates in the New Testament Church of God in Jamaica, West Indies his native homeland. He also served as an Instructor at Bethel Bible College, the official Theological College for the Denomination. He served extensively in Camping and Youth ministries in Jamaica and also served as a Director in the Youth For Christ Movement there. Upon migrating to the United States of America, Dr. Pryce served as an Associate Pastor of Zion Baptist Church in Ardmore, Pennsylvania from 1976-1978. He later accepted the call to Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio in 1979 and served as Minister of Christian Education until 1984 when he assumed responsibilities as Interim Pastor and served for a year.
The Reverend Dr. Pryce is a graduate of Bethel College in Jamaica, West Indies; the Jamaica Theological Seminary; Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA; Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh, PA, from which he earned the Doctor of Ministry degree.
In addition to his pastoral experience, Dr. Pryce served as Campus Minister with the University Christian Movement at the Cuyahoga Community College where he worked closely with students and faculty on all three campuses with primary responsibility for developing student leadership in the student Government, promoting hunger issues and providing counseling to both student and faculty.
Dr. Pryce served in the following capacities: Member of the Baptist World Alliance Commission on Mission, Evangelism and Theological Reflection (METR); President of the Community Re-Entry Program, an advocacy program for people formerly incarcerated; Member, Oversight Committee that promotes the Harvest for Hunger Campaign; Member of the Board of Trustees, Cleveland Baptist Association; Chair, Department of Ministry, (CBA). Dr. Pryce was a frequent speaker and workshop leader in many national and state Conferences, focusing particularly on the issues of Christian Education, Discipleship, Evangelism, Family and Youth. He was a featured speaker at the annual gathering of the Baptist World Alliance, convened June 2013 in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. There were over 60 countries represented.
Dr. Pryce is married to Juliet Lawrence Pryce RN, CNM, Manager, Quality Assurance Research HVI/Cardiovascular Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is the father of two wonderful children, Kerri-Simone Yolande’ (Dapo) of Chicago, IL, and Edmund Edison also of Chicago, IL. Both are graduates of Northwestern University Evanston, IL. There are also two grand-daughters – Remi Simone and Lola Catherine, both by Kerri-Simone.
