Elder Preston C. Kelker went home to be with the Lord on September 27, 2017. He was born on May 22, 1940 to Equilla & Regina Kelker. He was a lifelong resident of Akron, who believed in and maintained an outstanding work ethic. As a result he worked for Chrysler Twinsburg Stamping Plant; over 38 years, retiring in May 2002. At the age of 24, he was called into the ministry and Elder Kelker was ordained in the Original Glorious Church of God. He became faithful member of Bethel Temple, where Elder Tommy Hampton was Pastor. His love and heart for people became evident with his call to the ministry of Pastor for many years. He founded and pastored Christ Deliverance Crusades; which became Grace Temple Revivals, here in Akron. Elder Kelker was a forerunner of Apostolic/Prophetic insight and ministry in this region. He was a Spiritual father to many, and his legacy is seen in the generations, which have come after him: where many five-fold ministries have been born. He possessed a Spirit of Wisdom, knowledge, and revelation; that has influenced the kingdom of God and was known as a “Man of Faith and a Man of His Word.”
Elder Kelker always encouraged people to be the best they could be in God; and that there are no limits in God. He continued to encourage and impart a love for God’s word to the youth by challenging them to research the word with trivia and bible memorization.
At the time of his transition, Elder Kelker was a faithful member of Gateway Ministries of Akron, where served as a mentor, counselor, and Father.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Rudolph, David & Roland Kelker all of Akron.
He leaves to cherish his memory; devoted wife of 55 years, Helen Kelker; daughter Toya Kelker; granddaughter Tiaria Charnett Kelker; great-granddaughter, (the apple of his eye), Tatum Hall whom he affectionately called “Tatie”, her father Terrence Hall II; sisters, Pastor Regina Gladman Emeritus of Akron, Apostle Grace M. Clayton of Sun City, CA; brothers, Carl Kelker, Brownville NJ, Reverend Ernest Kelker & DeJuan Kelker all of Akron. He was loving Godfather to six and a favorite uncle to a host of nieces & nephews from California, Nevada, Texas, Indiana, Florida and Akron all whom he loved very much and had a very unique way of making them all feel special.
