Richards wishes were to be cremated and have his family and friends celebrate his life.

Following the Mass the family will gather at his daughter Melanie's home, 1277 Bailey Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, to celebrate and share memories.

Richard was a simple man in life and in death, he requested NO FLOWERS or FRILLS. In LIEU of flowers, JUST CARDS for his family with beautiful memories.

Richard C. Zabukovec age 72, passed away on Thursday, January 10, 2019.

Richard is survived by his wife Mae Zabukovec nee O’Bday; three daughters and one son, Melanie (Miquel) Lawrence, Alyscia Zabukovec, Heather Zabukovec and Jimmy Norton. Six grandchildren, Peyton Keimer, Reece Keimer, Joshua Jacobs, Sophia Nagy, Robert Wilce and Amelia Wilce; siblings, Rose Blasco, Nancy Srebernak, Joseph Zabukovec, Stanley Zabukovec, and Connie Zabukovec.

Richards was preceded in death by his parents, Stanly and Ella Zabukovec.

I served with Rich on the USS DeHaven from '66 to '68. We mustered out together at Treasure Island , Calif. We both lived in Bedford Hts. for 5 years before I moved on to Florida and eventually Texas. Visit with him and his family several times and always had a great time. The awesome memories we have of Rich from St. Prius from doing pancake breakfasts, volunteering at all the events together the smiles and laughs our families shared together it was times that will forever be in beaded in our minds. Never once throughout the years there was never a smile on his face or a happy greeting to you. He was a special man wonderful husband and awesome dad. Prayers for all of you throughout this difficult time. God Bless you all. We wish we could be there to celebrate his life.

Mr. Z was a wonderful man. Always smiling and could hold excellent conversations. He will he missed.

I will always remember your dad as a very kind, gentle & loving man. There was no doubt ever about the love he had for his family. I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s heartbreaking to see such a loving light in all your lives go dim.. I am certain he will always be with all of you and continue to watch over his loving family. My sincerest condolences to the entire family.
