Richard G. Adams, Sr. was born to parents Robert L. Adams (Deceased) and Mildred J. Adams on February 15, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio.
He graduated from East Technical High School. Following graduation, he began working for various places of employment before starting his career for the U.S. Postal Office as a Fleet Driver. He earned a promotion to a Supervisory role following recognition for his work ethic and ability to excel at his responsibilities. He also managed one of the local facilities Safety/ Maintenance programs most recently until his separation in 2022.
Richard, often known as “Big Rick, Slick Rick, or Big Ricky”, was a family man that loved to sarcastically joke and by all means PROTECT. He enjoyed boxing, martial arts, styling and profiling, singing, cooking, cleaning, and maintaining order. He had 3 children and a stepson; Rikki Shawnta Pruitt, Richard G. Adams II (Mikita), and Blair Wells (Wilbert) and Djuan D.D. Moore. He married Debra Ann in 1980 (Richard Adams II and Blair Wells).
In 2022, Richard retired and spent his time watching National Geographic, Mike Tyson, Bruce Lee, and Muhammad Ali replays. He was preceded in death by (Father)Robert L. Adams, (Brother) Mark C. Adams, Sr., (Brother) Leonard J. Adams, Sr. He leaves behind his (Mother) Mildred J. Adams, (Brother) Carlton Adams, (stepson) Djuan D.D. Moore, (Daughter) Rikki Shawnta Pruitt, (Son) Richard G. Adams II, (Daughter) Blair A. Wells (Adams). 15 Grandchildren; 2 Great Grandchildren. Aunt Dora Edwards, Aunt Martina Holt, Aunt Joyce Robertson, Aunt Grace S. Butler, (Uncle) Melvin Robertson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and longtime friends.
