Richard Molton, Sr. passed suddenly at UH Parma on July 19, 2023 @ 11:57 pm. Richard was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 6, 1943, the son of Louis Molton, Sr. And Lela Long.
He graduated from John Adams High School, class of 1961. Following graduation, he served in the US Army from 1961-1965. He was stationed in Germany where he met his first wife, Ingrid Goetz. Their union presented a daughter, Cornelia. Richard and his second wife, Gwendolyn, shared two sons, Richard Molton, Jr. And Rodney Molton.
He was all about making money. Richard had many odd jobs starting as an adolescent; one at a bowling alley collecting pins and another as a golf caddie. With each miles away from home, walking miles and miles to not only be on time but to get that money! Richard was a hard-working man from the time he was a preteen to the time of retirement. He went on from working at Ford Motor Company to finding his calling as a truck driver.
Richard was a dedicated family man as well. He lived a life caring about family and his legacy will outlive what he accomplished. Richard was a “God fearing” man and was a member of Rome Missionary Baptist Church. His favorite thing to do was playing cards or watching horse races.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceasd by his late sister Jackie Molton, late brothers Ronald Molton, and Louis Molton, Jr. Surviving family, his uncle Eugene (Mary) Molton, his sisters Vanita Molton, Joi Arlene Long, Carolyn Molton and brother Stanley, his daughter Cornelia (Rodney) Porch, his sons Richard Molton, Jr., Rodney (Kelin), 10 grandchildren, Latoya porch, James Porch, A’shontae Peterson, Jasmin Peterson, Taylor Molton, Richard Molton III, Michael Molton, Rihanna Molton, Makayla Molton and Kaiden Molton and a number of great-grandchildren.
