Robert Brown Jr., born on February 6, 1950, to Robert Brown Sr. and Alfaretta Brown, embarked on a life journey filled with love for the simple joys. He departed this world on September 22, 2023, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of warmth.
Robert’s passions in life included the serene pastime of fishing, the joyous atmosphere of musical events, and the hopeful pursuit of playing the lottery. He was renowned for hosting memorable fish fry parties, bringing family together at reunions, adding his unique charisma to holiday gatherings, and engaging in meaningful life lesson discussions. Robert had a knack for humor, always playing the role of the comedian and center of attention. His distinctive style was embodied in his “flashy” attire.
As one of 11 siblings, Robert Jr. shared a rich family bond. He was preceded in death by his siblings Arlen Brown, Darrell Brown, Terry Brown, Warren Brown, Arletta Brown, Loretta Brown-Moss, and Sylvia Brown-Raymore.
In his formative years, Robert received his education in the Cleveland Public Schools and nurtured a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His dedication to faith was a guiding light throughout his life.
Robert’s commitment to his craft was evident through his 39-year career at Ford Motor Company, where he served as an assembly line worker until his well-earned retirement in 2010. In 1972, he entered into a lifelong partnership with Debra Belton (Manuel), and from this union came the blessings of Ernest Lavelle Brown and LaTisha Denise Brown.
Robert’s memory lives on through his surviving siblings: Lynda Brown-Hayes, Teresa Brown, and Wayne Brown; his loving children: Ernest Lavelle Brown and LaTisha Denise Brown; and his cherished grandchildren: Gevon, Aleah, Vanessa, Gregory III, Janelle, Jasmine, Cortez, Frank, and Savior. He is also remembered by numerous nieces and nephews: Yvette, Trent, Toya, Lisa, Albert Jr., Reshaun, Kaishmere, Keith, Kenya, Kenyatta, Karche, Kasheef, Jessica, Joseph, and Jeremiah. His cousin, Anthony Daughtery, and a multitude of other relatives and friends share in the memories of his vibrant life.
Robert Brown Jr. will forever be cherished for his laughter, wisdom, and the love he showered upon his family and friends. His colorful personality and enduring spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
