Robert Cogburn, 86, was born August 28, 1933 to the late Willie C. Cogburn and Annie Maude Cogburn (Whooten) in Pine Level, AL. Robert passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2019. He attended Public Schools in Montgomery, AL and joined the U.S. Army. Upon discharge, he moved to Akron, OH and soon after met and married the love of his life, Beatrice Sadler Cogburn. He was a painter by trade and he had many other jobs. He worked at Babcock & Wilcox and as a cab driver. Robert’s hobby was painting, watching old western movies, grilling as well as spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife , Beatrice of 52 years; parents; brother, George S. Cogburn; sisters, Katie L. Harris, Sarah J. Allison and Bertha L. Cogburn-Smith.; sons, James Donald Sadler and Wrenfret Sadler; daughter, Carolyn Cogburn.
He is survived by sons, Robert Eric Sadler, Ricardo Sadler and Darrell Sadler; sister, Willie M. McDuffy (Michael); sister-in-law, Verlyne Cogburn; daughter-in-law, Debra Woodall; grandchildren, Tommie Woodall, Darrell Woodall, Deatrice Woodall, Dion Woodall, Jermaine Love, Selema Sadler, Robert E. Sadler, Jr., Carlos Cogburn, Renardo Cogburn and Jermaine Love; and a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
