Pastor Robert E. Green went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2021.
Pastor Robert E. Green, affectionately known as Woodie, born in Piedmont, West Virginia, to the late parents, Nathaniel and Doris Edith Green on February 12, 1950.
He served as a pastor at the Holiness Church of Christ Deliverance Center and as a schoolteacher at Salisbury High School in Salisbury, North Carolina.
Robert was a Correction Officer and Chaplain at Indian River Correctional Facility in Massillon, Ohio with 25 years of service. He was an Assistant Pastor in Massillon, Ohio at the Word of Liberty Christian Center and Chaplain of the Senior organization and Soldiers of the Cross at First Apostolic Faith Church. Served as a minister in Midland, Pennsylvania under Apostle Sam Sallis and served in the ministry under Bishop Clifford in Piedmont, West Virginia.
Robert moved to Akron, Ohio in 1986, where he and Esther Renee Patterson married in holy matrimony. He was a true servant that served his community and the ministry of God.
Robert was a Godly man who loved the Lord, had the patience of Job and a very meek man. He was a great mentor and had a captivating smile.
He loved horses and horseback riding, western movies, and jeopardy; he thought that he should have been the host of jeopardy and not Alex Trebek. Robert loved sweets, that his wife did not want him to have, so he would hide snickers in his socks in the back of the dresser drawer. The family would sneak him sweets so Renee would not put cinnamon on them and alter the taste.
Preceded in death by his parents, Nathaniel and Doris Edith Green; brother, Christopher Green; and mother-in-law, Ada Patterson.
