Robert Lee Carlis Jr was born March 7th, 1963, in Cleveland, Ohio to Robert Sr. and the late Alma Jean Carlis. He was the youngest of two children, born to this union. Affectionately known as “Bobby” to his family and friends, he grew up in Warrensville, Heights, Ohio. Bobby was a very mischievous child. He loved to play outside for hours, was always doing something he had no business doing, and was smart enough to convince mom “it wasn’t me”! Bobby was also a Cub Scout. He graduated from Warrensville Heights High school in 1982. #Tiger4Life In the fall, Bobby attended Cuyahoga Community College and West Side Institute of Technology.

Family meant everything to Bobby. He never missed the opportunity to remind them that he would always protect them! Specifically, the women in his family, he made it a point to always inquire about their wellbeing and reiterate his willingness to handle ANY potential conflict.

As Bobby matured, he preferred to be known as Rob and lived a very independent life. In 1987, he became the night manager at Mr. C’s Food Mart. In 2000 he was employed by VGS Environmental Services and worked in the US Federal Building. A combination of his work ethics and the professional relationships he established led to his position with U.S. Department of  Veteran Affairs.

Everyone who knew him felt like Rob was their best friend. If you extended an invitation, he would always say he would be there, show up and be the life of the party. Between dancing , playing his drums, and listening to loud music there was never a dull moment.

In 1996 Rob and former Charlene Jackson tied the knot and he gained two sons. Rob and the former Lachaune “Nikki” Leach married in 2015. For as long as anyone can remember, Rob spoke of having a daughter named Chelsea. On February 25, 2009, the anniversary of his mother’s passing, Chelsea Nicole Carlis arrived.

In 2006, Rob joined the Cleveland Ruff Ryders chapter in the Car and Truck division. He embraced their attitude and frame of mind. His alter ego, “Phace”, represented the brand with pride, poise, and conviction.

He accepted Christ as his savior at an early age. Throughout his life he attended various churches eventually joining New Community Bible Fellowship. There he found peace, growth, and comfort in the Word of GOD.

On April 30th, 2022, Robert Jr. gained his wings. He leaves to cherish his memories, his father, Robert Lee Carlis, Sr., his daughter, Chelsea Carlis, a loving sister Yulunda Bailey, two Aunts, Eurene Embry and Juanita Hawes, one Uncle William Carlis, Two nieces Timonie and Janay Bailey, a nephew Edward Bailey III (Khamil), a “bruh in law” Edward Bailey Jr , three great nephews Brian Moore, Julian Harris, and Edward Bailey IV, one great niece Kai Bailey, a special friend Rhonda “Shell” Molton, and a host of family and friends.
