Roberta Bell Knox, born on March 25, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, brought warmth and joy into the lives of those around her. Born to Cynthia and Robert Burney, she received her education in both Indianapolis, Indiana, and Clarksville, Tennessee. It was during her early years that she embraced Christ at Fifth Ward Missionary Baptist Church.
While Roberta held various jobs throughout her life, her most cherished role was that of a homemaker, dedicating herself to creating a nurturing and loving environment for her children. Her love and care were the cornerstones of her family life.
Known for her love of dance and her vibrant spirit, Roberta was often the life of the party, bringing laughter and joy to those fortunate enough to be in her company. Her enthusiasm for life was infectious, and she carried this light-hearted energy with her into the heavenly realms, where she is now dancing with the angels.
Roberta was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Washington, as well as her brother, James Burney, and sisters Geraldine Boone and Catherine Jones. Although she has left this earthly plane, her memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
To cherish her memory, Roberta leaves behind daughters Norma (James), Linda (Antoine), and Janet, along with sons Frank Washington (Tampa) and Tyrone (Ruby). Her legacy extends to sixteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren, all of whom hold the precious memories of their beloved Roberta in their hearts.
