Rome Da’Shawn Tucker, 49, of East Akron, passed away on January 5, 2023, after a courageous battle against cancer. Rome was born on March 9, 1973, to Steven (Stevie) & Betty Jones in Akron. He attended East High, where his love of vehicles flourished as a member of the autobody vocational program. Not too soon after high school, Rome met the love of his life, April, to who he was happily married for over 23 yrs.

Rome was all about family, and nobody loved his more than him. His children were his true joy, sons, Markese, Rome & Cartel (Akira), and daughter, Alexus. Rome so loved all his grandchildren as well. Rome was a mentor, a leader, and a connector of family, a true eastside legend that will be truly missed.

Rome is preceded in death by his father, Stevie Jones.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Jones; mother-in-law, Wanda Reaves; wife, April Tucker; sisters, Shirley Dukes, Lemellia Palmer, and Leaisha Harris; brother, Neil McNeil; siblings-in-law, Melony Reaves, and Dave Reaves; niece, Surrae Warner; nephew, Dierre Paige; Rome had a host of loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, but he had favorites: Doug Taylor, Tracey Monday, Tom Swoope, Damon Dixson, and Julien Dixon; special friends Michael Humphrey, and Dontae Mosley.
