Ronald Lovett was born on December 24, 1942, in North Brunswick, New Jersey, to the late Aurelius and Jessie Lovett. He was called from labor to reward on December 5, 2025. Ron was one of fourteen children—nine brothers and five sisters—all of whom preceded him in death.
Ron was educated in the New Jersey City school system, where he obtained his high school diploma. Following his education, he honorably served his country in the United States Air Force for many years.
After moving to Ohio, Ron built a long and successful career. He was a dedicated employee of CSX Freight Railroad Co., Hall Chemical, and Harshaw Chemical Co. For the last 16 years, he served at Hillcrest Hospital, where he was known for creating unforgettable bonds with his colleagues.
Affectionately known as “Daddy,” “Mr. Ron,” and “Papa,” Ron never met a stranger. He was a man of great wisdom who loved to talk, offer sound advice, and show love to everyone he met. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Ron was a man of many passions. He had a great love for traveling and imported cars, and he was an avid sports enthusiast. Whether playing a round of golf or cheering as a diehard Cleveland Browns fan, he embraced life with enthusiasm. Above all, his greatest joy was his family. He took immense pride in attending his granddaughter’s sporting events and celebrating her many accomplishments.
Ron shared 17 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Hortense. His memory will be cherished by his children, Michael and Michelle (Anthony); and his loving granddaughter, Tahji.
He also leaves behind a legacy of love with his extended family: Ieshea(James), JR(Malita), Lavelle, Mica, Daiju, Ramone (deceased)(Ashley), Artora, and Mo; as well as his extended grandchildren: Siddquah, Lashawnda, Andre, Ramone Jr., Yoshiah, Brianna, Jarnee, Stephanie, Ashia, Stacie, Talajah, Xyaire, Amir, Damari, Brenda, Xyor, Angie, Breamer, Natasha, Johnny; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and former co-workers.
