Ronald Wesley Fletcher Sr., age 72, passed away on March 5th, 2023.
Ronald W. Fletcher Sr was born June 17, 1950, to the union of Charles and Virginia Fletcher in Youngstown, Ohio. At a young age he earned the nickname “Buck” after his father described his agile and swift movements. Following graduation, at just 18 years old Ronald enlisted in the Navy becoming a member of the “SeaBees.” Fletcher family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where Ronald discovered his love for his favorite football team, The Green Bay Packers. Ronald earned a living in Milwaukee working for the Peltz Brothers where he quickly was promoted to the site manager.
Ronald traveled back and forth between Youngstown and Cleveland, Ohio, where he met Doris his wife and companion of thirty-four years. Ronald loved fishing in any open body of water that would allow him and his family. Ronald enjoyed long road trips, which he later turned into a career of CDL truck driving. He enjoyed cooking for his friends and family, even opening a successful restaurant in the community “The Kitchen Window” with his wife Doris. Ronald’s favorite place was in the kitchen, cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.
Ronald had such a large family, he made sure he cooked for them any chance he could get as that was his way of showing love. After a long and successful career, he retired from the Schenider trucking company. In his spare time, he enjoyed the occasional football game and golf match. At the end of the day, he loved experimenting with new recipes for his family to try. Ronald W Fletcher departed this life on March 5, 2023.
Ronald leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Doris. Four siblings Carol Fletcher, Shelda (Lawrence) McCotry, Anthony (Anna) Fletcher, and Charles (Janice) Fletcher. His children who he loved so dearly. Victoria Steele, Ronald Fletcher II, Erica N Fletcher, and Ronica Fletcher. Seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, including his sous-chef Violet, a host of nieces and nephews, and special friends. Ronald was preceded in death by his late parents Charles and Virgina. Brothers Timothy and Donald. Sisters Barbara, Thelma, Stella, Gail, Patricia, and Evelyn.
