Rondlay Joseph Holmes was born in Columbus, Ohio, on October 23, 1941, to John Henry Holmes and Ann Carmen Ramsey. Upon high school graduation, he attended the Cleveland Institute of Electronics and received his First-Class license. Rondlay worked at several television stations – he worked with channels 25, 43, 61, 3, 5, and 8 for 34 years.
Rondlay had an unwavering faith in God. He sought Him out through the best and worse times of his life.
In his free time, Rondlay loved to fiddle with computers – he loved his computers. He also enjoyed going on vacations and cruises. However, nothing satisfied him more than family gatherings and events. He loved his children and grandchildren more than anything.
Rondlay will be missed by all who loved him. Left to cherish his memory, wife, Diane Holmes; children, Celeste Crenshaw, Rondlay J. Holmes Jr., Mark Douglas Holmes, and Pamela Hasan; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Bishop Ricky Holmes; as well as a host of more family and friends.
