Ronnie D. Davenport was born on July 14, 1963 to the late Danethel Davenport and Leon Davenport Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. At a young age his family moved to Baltimore, Maryland. After the passing of his mother he returned to Cleveland, Ohio at the age of 12, where he was raised by his aunt (Vera). Ronnie was baptized at an early age. Ronnie, affectionately known as “Duck”, was a gentle and kind-spirited soul who met no strangers. Ronnie loved basketball, football, music and television sports. Ronnie enjoyed entertaining his family at events alongside his younger sister (Bay-Bay).
Ronnie graduated from East High School. Immediately after graduating he was employed at Levi Scofield Home. He worked there for many years. Ronnie also worked as a prep-cook at Mount Pleasant BBQ for more than 20 years. He had been a cancer survivor for many years until he fell ill on November 25th, 2023. It’s been an up and down battle for 8 months until June 1st, 2024, when God called him by his name.
Ronnie leaves to mourn—Carletha, 2 brothers – Leon Davenport Jr., Terry Davenport (Carmen), 3 sisters – Danita, Janda (Jimmy Lee), Westine Davenport (Bay-Bay), all of Cleveland, Ohio, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
