Roosevelt (MAC Cat) McKinnie was born to the late V.O. and Annie B. McKinnie in Bolivar Tennessee on April 16, 1935.
He lived in Barberton and Akron Ohio for over 80 years. He attended Barberton City Schools.
He was employed and retired as a trucker driver with over 40 years of service. Driving for Mason & Dixon Lines and Holland trucking companies.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved taking family vacations to the state fairs and the Boardwalk in New Jersey. He loved riding his Harley Davidson for many years.
He attended Tower of Prayer Church and served in the foodbank ministries.
He never met a person he considered a stranger and was a gentle giant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Cynthia McKinnie Young, sisters: Louise
Willis, Mary and Leola Mckinnie, Mamie Rackley. Brothers: David, John, Robert, V.O. Jr., Danny Mckinnie and Alton Williams.
He is survived by his loving devoted wife of 68 years Luvenia McKinnie. And from their union, daughters Ramona (Mark) Tolliver, Debra (Mike), and Rosalee. Sons Levail (Valerie), Rovail (Tina-deceased), Larry (Alfreda) Jennings and Michael Elkins. Son-in-law Thomas Young.
Siblings Rosie (Victor) Butler and James (Janice) McKinnie.
Grandchildren Tilwana, DeShawn, Mark II, Latoya, Levail II, Analise, Carmella, Thomas, Taylor, Jermel, Cierra, Jalen, Jaren, Naveah and a host of many other grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews.
God children Marcus Rooks and Nicole White. His loving devoted friend and caregiver for over 9 years Delbert Dyer, who is more like a family member than a friend. He also leaves family friend, Terlyn Jackson.
