Rosemary “Rosie” Barnes, age 76, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2025.

Born on September 9, 1949, in Akron, Ohio, Rosie was the beloved daughter of the late Hattie Mae Myers and Arthur C. Payne. A proud 1968 graduate of Riverview High School, Rosie was known for her hardworking spirit and her passion for helping others. She built a meaningful career as an instructor at a hair school and later dedicated herself to the care of others as a compassionate Home Health Aide.

Rosie truly enjoyed life. She was a woman of deep warmth, remembered by all who knew her as a loving and caring soul who centered her life around her family and her community.

Rosie was preceded in death by her son, Harvey L. Barnes; her parents, Hattie Mae Myers and Arthur C. Payne; her sisters, Marian Myers and Beverly Barnes; and her brother, Bill Barnes. She is also reunited in eternal rest with her daughter, Hattie Myers; grandchildren, Melody Barnes and Armani; nephews, Shawn Barnes and Jojuanta Myers; uncle, Robert Myers; and aunt, Pearl Myers.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Twila Barnes, Deohna Barnes, and Melanie Brown. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Pierre Barnes, LeAdierre Barnes, Trevino Barnes, Jaylen Dent, Harvey Dent, Steven Brown, Anastasia Barnes, Orajanee Rosie Smith, Ken’Yara Warren, Char’Lee Barnes, Tamechia Brown, and Natasha Brown. She also leaves behind 28 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Patricia Brown, her brother Jonathan Brown, and dear family friends Renard and Charday Harmon.
