Roy Levy Jr. was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 18th, 1980. He was the oldest of two children born to Madline and Roy Levy Sr.
Roy attended St. Jerome School for kindergarten through eighth grade. During that time, Roy maintained a “B” average and participated in various sports. He was good at track and basketball. Next, he completed grades nine through twelve at Villa Angela Saint Joseph High School. There, he maintained a “B” average as well. Roy played on the football team for a couple of years, and this led to his lifetime love of the Cleveland Browns.
After High School, Roy went on to college, earning an Associate of Arts Degree from Lakeland Community College. Then he completed two additional years at Baldwin Wallace University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Education. He majored in K-12 Special Education and worked as a Special Education Teacher.
Roy taught in the Painesville Township, Cleveland, and Euclid Public School districts during his teaching career. In addition, he taught at Cleveland Job Corps in the areas of Mathematics and Driver’s Education. Roy was fair, firm, and friendly with his students. And they always appreciated his caring and enthusiastic teaching style.
As a matter of fact, in 2005 Roy was recognized by the Barbara Byrd-Bennett Scholar’s Program for his leadership, initiative, and service to students. Roy was a Deacon at his local Baptist Church for several years, and he frequently volunteered to supervise church youth groups and activities.
Roy’s favorite past times were watching his three nephews play sports, fatherly bonding with Jaden, Mariah, and Mackenzie, watching professional football and basketball games, participating at tail-gating parties at the Brown’s football stadium, “hanging-out” with family and friends on holidays, and riding his motorcycles. It was his love for riding that earned him the nickname “Choir Boy”. He will be greatly missed.
Roy leaves to cherish his memory; his parents: Roy Levy Sr, and Madline Levy-Williams (Malcolm), his sister: Alexis Levy-Sims (Evan Sr.), his nephews: Evan Jr., Avontae, and Daevon, his God Son: Jaxon Fisher, his children Jaiden, Mariah, and Mackenzie, and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
