Ruby Green went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2025. She was born on June 14, 1933, to Henrietta and Pledger Dixon in Cleveland, Ohio. She was the sister of Ameenah Shafeeq, as well as Mildred Sprout, Mable Thomas, and Pledger Dixon, all of whom preceded her in death.
Ruby was a lifelong resident of Cleveland, Ohio, where she attended Central High School in her early years.
She married Gaston Jordan, and to this union, two children were born: Kenneth and Regina, both of whom preceded her in death. She later married Curtis Green, who brought to the relationship Leona, Curtis, Barbara (deceased), and Rick.
Together, they raised their grandson, Robin Lewis, and were married for over 60 years.
Ruby retired from Highland Hills Hospital, where she worked as a nurse’s assistant.
She was a loving and caring person who enjoyed helping others. Ruby was also very creative—she loved making greeting cards and exploring various forms of art. She also enjoyed listening to music.
She is survived by her grandsons, Kenneth Jordan and Kevin Jordan, and her granddaughters, Keisha Hayes and Faith Williams.
She also leaves to mourn a host of nieces and nephews. Ruby will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
