Rome told me this was yo moms. Let in the world know. you is one down sistah. Once a month you would camp out overnight at Grace Park with us homeless cats in the cold and sometimes snow and saw first hand our struggle. You, some others, Rev Nike and the In One Peice ministry used to spend a Sunday a month having service, mini sermons and eat hot meal ALL DAY. You would stay with us until late night singing Temptations songs and all kinds of doo wop until it was too late to make noise. The Haven was overcrowded. During a different day each week you would just bring buckets of Chruchs chicken and fries and we sat around and just rapped about life. You didn't act no kinda uppity and you didn't give a nothing about what folks thought was up. That what we dug about you you just let the noise be noise. We saw that and we wont you to know we love you. Thinking about a time I don't know where you and your moms was coming from but you made a stop thru and dropped off some blakets and long johns and I think hats too. Moms was upset cause she could not see you and then when we walked you back to the car, she would not unlock the door because she thought we was car jackers. So we had to walk away and then she let you in. We could hear her fussing but we was not offended casue she did not know us. Praying for you during this time of pain but be ease because none of us are homeless anymore. Be blessed and we praying for you.

Twei NOBODY NOBODY NOBODY could roll call like Mrs. Horn! She would wreck those lines every time. I remember your dad shaking his head and she would just get louder and say, "Shut up Bill Horn ain't nobody talking to you". Mr. Horn hadn't even said anything yet, but she was like Funk, getting ready to roll. All everybody (but her) could and did do was laugh. We kids, but that was some funny stuff. Keep the good times close to your heart and we will keep the prayers on ours.

Tweety Bird I remember when your mom used to drop you off at your friend Margret's house when we were growing up. She even took us to Dairy Queen. We had to stand around and eat all our ice cream because she did not want to "run" her car (her way of saying ruin). Every chance we got, we would copy her. Mrs. Horn used to let us wash the outside of her car on Biruta but never the inside because she said we didn't know how to clean. Funny how time flies. She will be missed.

I remember when my daughter committed suicide. By that time, you were teaching at another school. None of the teachers from the school she was attending at the time went to her funeral, but you took time off from your school day and came with your mother to Adams and comforted my family. I pray to be a comfort to you at this time.

In spite of your own health, it was never about you. Well right now it IS about you. Prayers up for you and your family .

We used to get our hair done every other week at Daisy's House of Style back in the day. Your mom would give us money to go to Tony's before our hair washing and would always say don't go in there and be grafty. We didn't have those ways, but Mrs Horn would say well you might do it because you got long fingers. I looked one day, and I saw that your hands were really longer than most girls. That is when it really became funny, and she said it every single time we went to the store or to Reeders or Birite for a slushy. You all churchy in your Catholic school uniform and me, in my pants. Remember how we used to laugh about it every time when she went under the dryer. Those were the days. I hope that you can find comfort during this time.

There we were laughing so hard and she got angry with you and hung the phone up. Then you called her back and when she accepted the collect call you laughed and said yeah I love you too and hung the phone back up. Man Mrs. Horn was a reality tv show in the flesh! Tweila my REPUBLICRAT/DEMIPUBLICAN friend. No party association except for primaries when your cousins Mike and Lisa and uncle Jim were running for offices. I remember going to the Elections Board one time with you and your mom and listening to her say ALL I KNOW IS THAT YOU BETTER BE VOTING FOR MIKE. You told her what do you think I'm doing thats why we are here. Mrs. Horn glared and said why you keep going back and forth? You--well politicians go back and forth. You fell out with that crazy laugh. She was hot and fussed in the car all the way to Cracker Barrel. She loved her some Mike and she loved her some you! Prayers to your family.

Tweila you, Terri, Janice and Debbie were the first Black Flag Twirlers at Central-Hower. Trailblazers. I remember when you all had those white go-go girl boots and your mom was at a game and afterwards said, "The football team got zero points, but I like y'alls boots." You took your allowance and bought her a pair. When we walked over to City Hospital during lunch time and took them to her, she frowned and said, "Don't be bringing me stuff to my job. These blankety blanks are thieves!" Oh, I never laughed so hard because she took them from you anyway. Rest in Heaven Miss Horn.

Golly where do I begin? So you were working APD but we would go to Bally's in the Valley for a few rounds of Squash. One evening you stopped by with your mom because we had a meet. Just remembering how she was fuming because she finally yelled out. "Ya know Cracker Barrel doesn't stay open all night." Mrs. Horn fussed from the time we finished, until the time we arrived at Cracker Barrel and picked back up after she ate her fish and greens. Her eye stares, and the way she flung her hand. She was incredibly funny. My friend, I pray comfort to you and your girls.

Gunny, I worked for you at the Staff NCO Academy at Quantico. Our first baby died from SIDS. You came over, tried CPR, wrapped him and took us to the closest hospital. I remember when you were trying to keep it together and then called your mom. She was so compassionate and let you know that sometimes the times are short and sometimes the times are long. Mrs. Horn surprised us and wired money to pay for the casket. You gave us your other car. Forever Nichole and I are grateful. Please let us know if there is anything we can do for you and your family.

GySgt Tweila Horn Cauthen. Knew when I recruited you, that you were the One. Just remembered how upset your mom was when you joined the Marines. Oh my ears! And that was in the day when a phone hang up was a hard click! But when you was the Honor Grad, remember her saying, "So, what does that mean?" Mrs. Horn was a get to the point woman, and if she didn't see it right now, it just wasn't so. Had to laugh at some of the times when you would call collect and prank her and when you fessed up, she invented new combinations! Famous for your megaphone. Best laughs ever. Celebrating her life with you Devil Dog!

Twei all I can say is after reading everyone's remembrances of your mother, I feel cheesy. Your mother attended one of our events and told me that she did not want you to finish Law School because she said, "lawyers lie and nobody needs to pay to learn how to lie." First time I was speechless. But just like those eyes in this beautiful picture, she did not blink. And when i nervously chuckled, she doubled down and said, "Lie NOW if you want to,". Stern and protective of her only child. My condolences to you my treasured friend.

Hey Horn since we are dealing with COVID, everybody is making there memories here. I have a memory of Miss Horn. We came from Quantico one year to run against a running club in Ohio. Twila, you wanted to stop by to pick up your mom. And we went off the route and swung by. She made you drive behind the bus in her car because she said that in case we start losing, she could take herself home It was funny when Denny asked her if she knew the way back and she said Naw but I will drive until I see a sign that says Akron. First time lasting impression. Good thing we served the heat and won huge because she did stay until the end. Oh one more One year when we were playing basketball in the East Coast Regionals again at Quantico and someone made an 8mm video for her. To hear her on the phone when she called the barracks fussing at you because what was she gonna do with a kitrty cat video that did not fit her betamax? You a mad crazy chick because you took that megaphone you had and let all of us hear her give a good old fashion 'blessing' and watching you egg her on-good times. Man, that still funny today. Rounding up the crew to celebrate her life. See ya in a few weeks. We got you!

Coach C learned so much from you. Learned how keep going even when folks flap their gums. And learned how not to even bother with explanations to dispel their myths. Learned how to balance a schedule, set up a budget, invest in stock markets, but most of all. Learned about God, His mercy and His grace, and how I am worth every ounce of weight. You were never ashame or shy about sharing your ups and downs, wounds and ways to heal inspite of everything. Now I know how to look at me and love me and be okay when others reject you or don't understand you. You taught me that the only person who knows your life's assignment is you and God and to make sure that you stay on point and it might mean bieng alone. You also taught me to understand that death is beauty for the believer. Your mother was a believer, so I know that you will be alright. Praying for the alright moment. Thank you for everything.

Sis, I was remembering when you almost died after giving that kid mouth to mouth when it was never told that he had spinal and viral meningitis and died. And there you were, life slipping away and crying about how you could not revive him. Thinking about that phone call we made to your mom and dad, and how angry she was and how she fussed at everybody and told us that everything needed to be done to save your life or she was coming to Camp Lejeune to cuss out the General and ALL the doctors. Mrs. Horn was one lady that if you met her, you would never forget her. Just remember absence from the body is to be present with the Lord.

We all cracked up and she didn't think it was funny when we said that we was laughing at HER reaction to that lady. Then your mama said, while yall watchin me make sure that yall don't go to he@@!@ Praying for you sweetie! She will be missed.

When you got in the house everybody got out your Old Skool Caddy and stretched, When you came out your mama fussed when she saw all of us and when you told her that we all were in the car piled up she yelled, "And when the cops lock yo' @@@ up don't call me for bail!" Man drop the mic. Yeah you might be sad, but remember the funny times.

Doc C. I was reading the comments of others. I have my own. The year that you were crowned Ebony Woman of Essence. Your mother saw that instead of a scepter, you were presented an Afrikaan statue. She rolled her eyes and said,, "It is a good thing that they also gave money cos' that thang sho' is ugly." We tried so hard to act like we did not hear and we tried so hard not to laugh, but the more she stared at it, the funnier it became. It was epic when we all started howling at the table doubling in laughter and then heard your mom say, "to be college educated, yaw act simple." Perry and I still laugh about that to this day. Tweila, you have my deepest sympathy,
