Samantha Jackson-Ingram, age 64, went home on March 23, 2023.
Samantha was born on September 28, 1958, in Cedartown, Georgia to Rena Mae Norris (nee Gibson) and Roosevelt Norris, Sr. She was educated in the Cleveland Public Schools, graduating from John F. Kennedy High. After graduating, she received her CNA Certificate at St. Luke’s Hospital where she worked several years. When St. Luke’s closed, she was employed at Judson Park Nursing Home, where she worked until she was not able to perform duties because of her health. She loved working with patients and their families.
Samantha was active in the church and enthusiastically pursued her spiritual growth. She was baptized at Emanuel Baptist Church under the late Pastor Glover, and later attended God’s House of Prayer under the leadership of Pastor Schaffer, for several years. She worked diligently to become an Ordained Minister and prayer warrior. Pastor Schaffer “adopted” Samantha as a daughter and supported her through many years of trials and tribulations as did other members of the ministerial staff. Although Samantha had learning disabilities because she was such a premature baby, she never let the diagnosis stop her from pursuing her dreams. She is an example of what it takes for one to keep trying even when others say, “you can’t do it.”
Well, she overcame the obstacles and became an excellent example for others. She studied the bible diligently, attended spiritual retreats, and took various classes at Cuyahoga Community College.
Samantha married Larry Jackson for several years until their marriage ended. However, she continued to spend time with his sister and mother. They enjoyed going on bus trips to the casinos and playing games with the group.
In 2012 Samantha married Christopher Ingram, and they loved spending time together, going to various restaurants, watching movies, and shopping.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Christopher Ingram; sisters Linda Sumpter (Kimble, deceased), Pamela Ellison (Ed, Deceased); Gale Kimbrough Benyoun (Kerwin); brothers Roosevelt Norris, Jr. (Mary) and Jerry L. Norris (Celeste) and host of nieces and nephews.
