In perfect peace on February 6, 2020, Sammy James Howze Jr. answered the call of Almighty God, his creator, and boarded his flight to his eternal home.
He was born in Akron, Ohio on December 20, 1952, to the late Sammy James Howze, Sr., and Sarah Francis Howze. He was a lifelong resident of Akron, Ohio, attending Akron Public Schools, including a community college where he earned an Associate Degree.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior at an early age and with great joy served as an usher at Second Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor I.T. Bradley. He was employed at Alside Windows for many years until his health began to fail.
He was the fourth child born in his family and the father of two sons and one daughter. He served his country in the Army. Sammy had a great passion for cooking, going fishing, loving and spending time with his family, and his loyal friends and helping others in need any way he could.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gwendolyn L. Harvey; brother, Daniel L. and Kenneth M. Howze.
He is survived by and leaves to rejoice his loving memory sons, Jamie and DemeTrius Howze; brother, Waymond Heard; sisters, Pastor Sandra Howze and Rosemary Turner; aunt, Geraldine Veal; special family, the Vickers; and a host of other family members and friends.
