Sampson Burtin was born March 17, 1950 to Robert Burtin (deceased) and Edna Mae Burtin (deceased). Sampson was born in Cleveland, Ohio.
He attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from East Technical High School. He played football, basketball, and baseball and was picked 5 to play for the Cleveland Indians and he was in the newspaper.
Sampson moved to Warrensville Heights, Ohio. In 1976, he married the love of his life, Cheryl Y. Burtin on the 12th of November. They had one child – Tawanna M. Burtin. He lived in Warrensville for 48 years.
Sampson was a loving, caring person who loved his daughter and grandchildren, and would do anything for them. He would donate to the American Cancer Society and the American Diabetes Association. Sam was a cool dude and a sharp dresser – he was such a loving persion and had a sense of humor that kept people laughing.
Sam loved to workout 5 days a week, and did this until he was 72 years old. He was a hard worker at LTV Steel for 38 years until he retired.
Sampson is preceded in death by his father, Robert Burtin; mother, Edna Mae Burtin; his wife, Cheryl L. Y. Burtin; his sister Edna Mae Leak.
He is survived by his daughter, Tawanna Burtin, grandkids A’sha Burtin and Ta’Chaun Burtin; brothers Robert Burtin Jr. (Gwendolyn), Timmy Burtin; sisterEmma Thompson; brother-in-law Charles E. Leak; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends.
