Samuel Capers was born on June 30, 1953, to the loving parents, Marie and J.B. Capers. He was raised in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his education through the Cleveland Municipal School District. Samuel’s early years helped shape the man he would become, and throughout his life, he continued to carry with him the values and experiences that were instilled in him during his upbringing.
After completing his education, Samuel answered the call to serve his country and proudly joined the United States Army. His time in the military was an important chapter of his life, providing him with experiences and responsibilities that he carried with him after his service. Following his discharge from the Army, Samuel returned to civilian life and continued his career by working at the V.A. Hospital.
Samuel, affectionately known as “Sammy,” was a devoted father to his only child, Samuel Lee Calhoun. Being a father was an important part of Samuel’s life, and his son will forever carry the memories and legacy of his father with him.
Samuel lived a life that included service to his country, dedication to his work, and love for his family. His journey through life touched those who knew him, and the memories he created will remain with those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Samuel was preceded in death by his father, J.B. Capers; his mother, Marie Capers; and his two brothers, Jimmy and Bernard. Though they have gone before him, their memories remain a lasting part of his life and family legacy.
Samuel Capers will be remembered and cherished for the life he lived, the family he loved, and the memories he leaves behind. His life was a part of the lives of many, and his memory will continue to live on through those who knew and loved him.
