Deaconess Sandra “Bunny” Monson Davis of Akron Ohio joined her parents Dennis & Mildred Monson Jr, and her grandparents Dennis & Lucy Monson, her brother, Frederick J. Monson, on February 16, 2022, when the Angels held her hands, wrapped their wings around her, and took away her pain.
Sandra was born on September 22,1950 in Ravenna Ohio to Dennis & Mildred (Holt) Monson Jr. The youngest girl of six children.
Sandra had a strong faith in God and a passion for learning His Word. In her younger years, she could always be found learning more about God or doing His work in the church along with her parents and grandparents. She was baptized as young girl at Mt. Calvary BC Ravenna OH and became active in her church as a Junior Usher and later an Usher Instructor and was the first Jr. Usher Instructor for the Midwest Regional Usher Association.
Sandra completed her education in the Ravenna School System. Soon after her high school years, she started her family and had two beautiful daughters.
She married Joe Spence at an early age. She relocated to Akron Ohio where she married Edward Johnson, they later divorced. She was united in holy marriage to John Eugene Davis Sr. on December 28, 1991, at Mt Calvary Baptist Church, Ravenna Ohio.
She later joined United Missionary Baptist Church Akron OH, where she was active as an Ushers and a member of the Pastor’s Aid, later under leadership of Bishop Kenneth W. Paramore, she became an ordained Deaconess.
Sandra was employed with Manchester Tool Company Barberton, OH, where she worked for almost 30 years before the plant closing in April 2008. Even though the plant closed, she maintained contact with many of her coworkers -who she dubbed as friends.
A beautiful, kindhearted woman, Sandra will always be remembered for her big smile, her stubbornness, and spontaneity. Her bravery and curiosity took her many places and allowed her to meet so many wonderful people along the way. To know her was to become family.
A fighter until the end, she will be missed dearly. She is now free from the pains and hurts of earth. So today we sadly, yet gladly bid farewell to her, a good wife, a good mother, a good grandmother, a good sister, and a good friend to those around her and a faithful child of God.
