Sandra Jo Thompson-Oden affectionately known as “Ms. Tiny” was born in Mexico, Mo, to the late Mary Francis Smith and Kenneth Thompson, Sr. on March 8, 1949. She gained her heavenly wings on March 15, 2020.
She moved to Akron, OH in 1953, and attended Akron Public Schools. She graduated from North High School. She met and married Marvin Oden Sr. and to this union were born two sons, Marlon & Marvin Jr. She worked for The Dept. of Job & Family Services retiring with 26 years of service.
She loved gardening, weeding, and planting flowers and veggies yearly while helping her neighbors to weed and plant too. Tiny had a passion for line dancing, baking, and loved and adored sports. She was a member of the LeBron James grandparents club, and Seniors on the Move.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, brother, Kenneth Jr., and nieces, Levit and Bridge Hill.
She is survived by her sons, Marlon (Crystal) of Akron, OH; Marvin Jr. of Atlanta, GA; sister, Wilma Hill of Akron, OH; grandchildren, Deon, James, Carnae and Marlon Jr.; great-grandchild, Carleigh; special friends/family, Catherine Chambers, Karen Jenkins and Francine Carter, brother and sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
