Sandra Marie Peterkin (Suey) was born on June 3rd, 1962 in St. James, Jamaica to parents Mavis Miranda Lewis and Albert Peterkin.
Sandra started her early childhood education at Granville All Age school from 1969 to 1975. She then went to Northwestern Academy for high school 1975-1980.
She went on to do evening classes at Sam Sharpe Teachers College and started teaching special ed students at Jamal, an institution in Jamaica. In 1983 she had Latoya, her first child.
In 1989 she migrated to Canada in search of a better life for herself and her family.
In 1990 she migrated to New York in the United States where she worked for many families as a great Nanny to their children.
She later moved to Cleveland, Ohio where she spent the rest of her years. She had her second child, a son whom she called Lamar, in 1998.
She had a passion for taking care of others and loved working as a Nanny over the years. Her other passion was in learning and education. She even homeschooled Lamar for the first few years of his life. She loved life and she loved her family. Her generosity was known to everyone she met.
She is survived by her children daughter Latoya Myrie, son Lamar Myrie, granddaughter Emery Goode, sisters Winsome (Winnie) Smith, Estrelita (Islyn) Fairclough, Charmaine Peterkin and Maxine Peterkin, brothers Hector Kelly and Hopeton Peterkin, aunts Daphne Peterkin and Evangeline Lewis, uncle Sonny Peterkin, nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of family and friends.
