Sarah A. Vales passed away peacefully on Thursday April 4, 2024 at Altercare NH in Cuyahoga falls, Ohio. Sarah was born on December 16, 1944 to the late William and Rebecca Wharton. She was a graduate from Sterling High and also was an active member in the NAACP, and retired from Akro Mills after 30 years of service as a Press Operator.
Sarah has joined her loving husband Melvin B Leathers. She is survived by her daughter LaTonja Mckinnie (Marcus), her only nephew Wesley Kelley (Avis), her granddaughter LaDaneia Lee (Justin Brown), her only great grandson Khylen H Brown, and her loving grand dog Chico Vales. She also survived extended family Teresa Brown, Jasmine Brown and Howard Brown and many others in SC.
Sarah will be laid to rest on Wednesday April 10, 2024 at Mount Peace Cemetery at 2pm. Flowers/cards can be sent to 124 Whitehall Dr Tallmadge, Ohio 44278.
