Selwyn May was born in Mansfield, Ohio to the parents of Frank and Rosa May on June 6, 1950

Selwyn, known as “Skip” studied art, “his passion” at Cooper School of Art at Akron University and Cuyahoga Community College. He worked in the Aerospace Industry for 10 years and several agencies as a Graphic Designer. Selwyn retired in 2009 from the Call and Post Newspaper.

Selwyn was called into the Institute of Divine Metaphysical Research (IDMR) by our Founder and Dean Dr. Henry Clifford Kinley in 1984. He was an active student until his illness. Knowing, or better yet, our Heavenly Father knowing you is true eternal peace.

Selwyn was allowed to depart the flesh on Friday December 16, 2022.

He leaves to cherish his memory:
Wife of 31 years Patricia May
Stepdaughter: Eugenya Marks
Grandsons: Devin Marks and Rashaan Carter
Brother: William May (San Francisco, CA)
Niece: Hailey May (San Francisco, CA)
Nephews: Paul (Paula) Coleman (Charlotte, NC), and Julius Coleman (Greenville, SC)
Cousins: Mary, Eva and Helen Porter (Mansfield, OH), and Dolores Porter (Columbus, OH).

See Condolences

While pondering the significance of June 6th, I was reminded from past memories that Selwyn was also born on this day. Further wonderment of him led me to sadly learn of his passing last December. Many memories of our shared experiences in the 80’s, in and out of class, have resurfaced, and are as though they are being lived anew, (just as if they occurred yesterday). While I’ve not been a part of his life for several decades, I want to believe that you and he have been blessed to enjoy one-another’s life together for 31 years and that your knowledge in the truth will keep you steadfast in the faith of Yahshua the Messiah. May peace belong to you, in all ways.

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Selwyn's passing. He and I attended the U of Akron and he was always a sweet and quiet spirit. My deepest andmost sincere condolences are to his family........

Warm childhood memories of coming over to the May's home with their family, the Porters. I will never forget the 'accident' where I hit Skip with a rock and it chipped his tooth! Condolences to the family, rest peacefully, Skip.

I am so sorry to hear this. Skip was a life long friend. From the early years at Mitchell Chapel, i was a close friend to his brother Aaron. I also attended Akron U and studied Graphic Art with him. A very talented man who will be missed.
