Shaicona Marshia Spooney was born on December 3, 1981, in Akron, Ohio to Larry D. Moore and Belinda S. Spooney. She was a member of The Love Center Church, 3296 E. 93 St. Cleveland, Ohio 44104, Elder Paul Carrington is the Pastor. She went to Kenmore High School, graduating in 2002. She also attended the University of Toledo to major in Computer Programming. She worked for H&H Engineered Mold Products for 6 years and AeroControlex for 4 years as a Quality Assurance Technician. She really took her work seriously. She was also CMM certified and FAA Repairman certified. She was able to read and interpret blueprints to program machines for her jobs.
She decided to move out of town and chose North Carolina. Once there, she worked a few jobs and got a position at SmartRent as a traveling Alarm System Technician which also smart-proofed people’s homes. She traveled to many cities and states installing alarm systems in apartment buildings. She enjoyed traveling, taking family trips, drawing, and photography. Photography was the next adventure she became interested in, but she never had the chance.
Shaicona became aware of her cancer on September 1, 2020, and she fought long and hard. But as time went on, she grew tired and her body could no longer fight. On the night of October 29, 2020, she wrote to me “what time are we leaving the hospital”, I said not today. She wrote “I am ready to go home,” I said we are working on it. On that night, Shaicona went to her heavenly home. She was not forgotten; God knew her name. We Love you more Shaicona!
She was preceded in death by her grandparents John D. Spooney Sr., Sarah L. Spooney, and Guynell Moore Sr.; great-grandparents, Jabe and Ericka McNealey, Johnny and Juanita Washington, Henry Mac, and Ida May Spooney; cousin, Malik Price.
She leaves to cherish her memory father Larry D. Moore, mother Belinda S. Spooney; sisters Kalenda and Keneya Spooney, and Layla Burley; brother, Lateef Wells; daughters, Khayla, Kainrynn, and D’Aasia; Godmother, Valorie (Papa) Bailey, Godbrother and sister, Troy and Tiara Jewell; nephews, DeSean, Kerriiyon, Daiiyon, MaQarii, Lennox, and Malaqhii; nieces, Lyric, MaQhia, KaRayah, and Damonie; aunts and uncles, Willie James Threat (Thom), Forestine Smith (Raynard), John Spooney (Yolanda), Selena Spooney, Carmenita Spooney Ruiz and Eric Spooney (Toka), Guynell Moore Jr., RaShia Moore, Latonya Moore, and Davey Moore.
Shaicona has a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, and friends which are too many to name. Just know that some were very dear to her heart and she touched every one of them in a special way, that no one else can imagine. Whether it was a late-night call for a shoulder to cry on, just sharing secrets or private moments that you could not or would not share with anyone else. We are sure she took many secrets to heaven with her. She touched many lives during her 38-year journey down here on this earth. So those are the memories you should cherish in your heart for Shaicona. She was Loved! My sister gave her the wrong name, it should have been Love.
