Shannon Nichole Copeland-Jarrett
September 26, 1985 – January 23, 2026
Shannon Nichole Copeland-Jarrett was born on September 26, 1985, to Lennard Jarrett and Candi Jarrett. She was the cherished younger sister of DeShaun Rice and Brandon Jarrett, who quickly embraced their roles as her big brothers.
Shannon attended elementary school in Cleveland, Ohio, and junior high school in Sandusky, Ohio. She later graduated from Brush High School in South Euclid, Ohio, in 2004.
If you knew Shannon, you knew of her deep love for her beloved cat, Stinky, who was a constant and special companion in her life. Shannon also valued family deeply and made it a priority to stay connected with those she loved. She greeted new people with warmth and a welcoming smile and had a genuine gift for making others feel seen and appreciated.
On June 4, 2015, Shannon married David Copeland. Their marriage was a loving union that lasted until her passing.
Shannon dedicated many years of service as a Nursing Assistant at the VA Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, and later continued her work as an independent aide and caregiver. Her compassion and commitment to caring for others were evident in all that she did.
Although our hearts are broken, we are grateful for the time we were blessed to share with Shannon. Her love, laughter, and gentle spirit will continue to guide and comfort us.
Shannon will always be lovingly remembered by her husband, David Copeland; her mother, Candi Jarrett; her father, Lennard Jarrett; her brothers, DeShaun Rice (Cassaundra) and Brandon Jarrett (Myja); and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other cherished family members and friends.
