Angie Nelson left a message on February 26, 2022:
Godmother.....I sit here struggling to find words that adequately encompass the range of emotions warring within me. On the one hand, I am relieved that you are no longer suffering through the pains and afflictions associated with your illness. On the other hand, the selfish side of me never wanted to experience this separation from you. You were my sounding board, my confidant, my defender, and one of my greatest cheerleaders. Although my heart aches, I am so grateful for the nearly fifty years of unconditional love you showed me. You were the Proverbs 31 woman- the epitome of love, beauty, grace, style and compassion. My only consolation in all of this is I have no doubt you had a genuine relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and our word tells us to be absent from this body is to be present with the Lord. I loved you in life Faye and I will continue to love you in this separation. I will lookout after my Godfather and my Brother as best I can and you know I got your Sister-Cousin. I cannot promise to not shed any tears because my heart is broken; but I do promise to hold onto our memories and special moments and think on those things. I miss you so badly Godmother and wish I could call Heaven to hear you once more. I love you forever and one day. To my family continue to hold onto God's unchanging hand. Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted. I pray for peace, strength, and comfort during this difficult season. Everything will be alright family. Angie

Beverly Godfrey left a message on February 25, 2022:
Where do I start? My cousin Faye was truly One of a Kind. She was witty, serious (sometime), loving and kind. She was a "no-nonesense" kind of person that always said what she meant. You never had to wonder where you stood with her. Many of the events at our family reunions were her idea. The first was giving our elders a special gift each. the most recent was our "CARTER BUCKS". The bills had our grandparents face on them and they were a way to get the younger generation excited to meet their relatives. I'm trying to keep that creativity going. I am going to miss out talks. We would say goodby then get on another subject finally hanging up after about three goodbyes. Whenever I feel sad I will remember some of our shared antics and smile. Forever in my heart; never far from my thoughts

Karen Tate Bryant left a message on February 18, 2022:
Faye was not only one of my favorite cousins, but also my confidante. Let me tell you what Faye meant to me! As a little girl, Faye shared all her clothes with me; she listened to my adolescent issues, and advised me accordingly. Faye had a great sense of humor. Faye was her own person. She was a person with grit and grace. At the core, she was a warm, gracious and insightful person, a proud woman of strong conviction. She showed others how to live with purpose and how to face adversity with a smile. She was kind, caring and welcoming, and most of all a generous person always available to share whatever she had with others. Her kindness and generosity touched the lives of many people around her. So you see, I not only lost a dear cousin, but most importantly a wise adviser and a cherished friend. My sadness of her passing can only be replaced by the fond memories I hold close to my heart. In closing! Faye, I am blessed to have had you in my life. Truly, you will travel with me all the days of my life.

Another day that I search my thoughts about how I am going to fill your absence with something else ?. Im learning too never underestimate one person's presence in your life because that one life is connected too many other lives and the death of one becomes the death of many?. So it is true, "ONLY WHAT WE DO FOR THE LORD WILL LAST ", because now that is what we all have of that one person too hold on to and it is that which will keep us connected in CHRIST ??????‍♂️????

Faye, I don’t even know where to start. I love you so much and have as long as I can remember. When I needed an winter to show me unconditional love you did, when I needed motherly advice and pressure you gave it and when I asked for a Bible as my only college graduation gift you provided it with many love notes written to me throughout. You were my auntie even tho we were related by blood and I will be forever grateful for the example you were to me of what it meant to be a virtuous, loving and powerful woman. This world will never be the same and I will look back on all of the memories I have with you from the 40+years you were in my life. Thank you and I love you….. until we meet again in paradise. ~Mook
