Sharon Joy Evans was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on September 21, 1957, to Grant and Helen Sims-Evans, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved twin sister, Karen Joyce Evans.

Sharon was a kind, creative, and gentle soul who found joy in coloring, drawing, writing, watching television, and listening to music. She especially enjoyed spending time at Beachwood Adult Activity Center (formerly Euclid Adult Activity Center), where she participated in activities, made many friends, and built lasting relationships with both staff and fellow participants.

Sharon shared a close and loving bond with her sisters, Karen Joyce Evans and Betty Jean Evans. Betty and Sharon enjoyed many special times together, including going out for lunch and dinner, attending plays at the library, and simply talking and enjoying each other’s company. As Sharon and Karen grew older, their bond became even stronger—they were truly like two peas in a pod. Sharon’s favorite part of each day was talking with Karen on the phone every evening.

Throughout the years, Sharon visited Karen at her group homes, including Gary House, Euclid House, and later Highland House, where they continued to spend cherished time together.

Sharon and her sisters faithfully attended The Salvation Army Church on Lakeshore Boulevard, where they enjoyed worship and fellowship together.

In January 2024, Sharon became ill and was hospitalized. In January 2025, she moved to Euclid Beach Nursing Facility, where she quickly formed friendships with the nursing staff and fellow residents. She remained active in the programs offered there and continued to enjoy her favorite activities—coloring, drawing, listening to music, and watching television. Although she enjoyed the care she received, Sharon often spoke about her desire to return to Beachwood Adult Activity Center. It was a place she loved dearly and talked about often. However, God had other plans.

Sharon peacefully went from labor to reward following her illness. Her pain and suffering came to an end as she entered eternal rest and embraced everlasting life.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Helen Sims-Evans, and her brother, Grant Evans Jr.

Sharon leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving sisters, Karen Joyce Evans and Betty Jean Evans, along with a host of cousins, friends, caregivers, and all whose lives were touched by her gentle spirit.
