Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Josie and Christopher King Sr. Sheila was second oldest of their four children. She was the only girl in the family and beloved by her brothers. From a young age Sheila had a sweet, kind and loving spirit. She was very soft-spoken but always very giving, and compassionate.
She worked in the medical industry as a pharmacy technician for twenty-five years, first at St. Luke’s Hospital on Martin Luther King Boulevard, then after its closure at University Hospital. Sheila had a love for working with people and helping anyone in need. Even after her retirement, she continued to care for at-risk youth through her management of her nephew’s group home.
Although Sheila had no children, she shared a very close and motherly relationship with her oldest nephew, Christopher King III, whom she viewed as her own. Sheila and Christopher were a dynamic duo, hanging out after school, bowling, and going out to eat during Chris’s childhood. Sheila was Christopher’s biggest supporter and cheerleader. She exuded unconditional love and lived with strength, selflessness, and grace.
In her personal time, Sheila enjoyed shopping, spending time with family, watching Netflix Asian movies, and talking to her friends.
Sheila is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Darryl King and Christopher King II. Sheila leaves behind her brother Kevin King, nephews Christopher King lll and Denzel King, nieces Amira Thomas and Aleyah King,
great nephew Christopher T. King and a host of family and loved ones.
