Sherrie A. May-Mischer was born on January 17, 1961, in Cleveland, Ohio to Addie Bell May and Ernest Campbell. She attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from East Technical High School in 1978. Later in life, she attended Cuyahoga Community College.
Sherrie worked for the Veterans Administration Medical Center for several years. After which she worked for MetroHealth Medical Center, working in the Women Infant and Children Department for 35 years. She retired from MetroHealth in January 2023.
Sherrie accepted Christ as her personal Savior at Good Hope Missionary Baptist Church, under Rev. George J. Bradford. She was baptized on February 6, 1972. As a youth, she participated in most of the youth ministry programs. As an adult, her creative spirit was on display in everything she did at Good Hope, as she led many programs and productions. She loved music especially Gospel and Jazz. Sherrie sang with the Voices of Hope and served as president for many years. She was instrumental in establishing the Praise Team and she loved to praise God. After her retirement Sherrie served as Church Administrator as well as assisting on the Trustee Board.
Everything that Sherrie did, she took it to the next level. Her family called it “snowballing.” When she had a vision, she made sure it was done to perfection.
Sherrie was also a culinary genius. She could take an ordinary recipe and made it extraordinary. She took pride in making dinners for her family and friends, little did they know, this was her love language.
Sherrie is preceded in death by her mother, Addie B. May, her father, Ernest Campbell, brother, Dwayne May, and an aunt, three uncles and two cousins.
Those left to cherish her memory; her son, Terrence L. May Sr., daughter, Tayla A. Parnell, grandson, Terrence L. May, Jr. (TJ), her sister, Diane May, and a host of extended family and friends.
