Shirley A. Jimmerson-Franklin was born in Bastrop, LA, on October 6, 1955, to the late Sesley (Bud) and Verda Mae Davis Jimmerson. She was the youngest of 5 children.
Shirley accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Macedonia MBC of Bastrop, LA, under the Leadership of the late Rev. E.L. Grant.
She was a graduate of the Morehouse Parish School System. Upon graduating, Shirley moved to Cleveland, Ohio, making it her permanent home. She joined the Progressive EMB Church.
Shirley was employed at The Cleveland Clinic as an account representative until she retired in 2020.
On Friday, July 25, in her home, Shirley quietly moved from her earthly home to her Heavenly.
She is preceded in death by her parents Sesley (Bud) and Verda Mae Jimmerson; her sister Verda Marie Nichols, nephew Aswad and three brothers; Jackie, Charles and LeRoy Jimmerson.
Shirley leaves to celebrate her life; Anita Jones her cousin and primary caregiver, Cousin Nicole Tate who also aided in her care. Cousins’ Viola Thomas (Ann) and Johnnie M. Wanzo (Tut) who cooked her favorite meals; Two adopted families NeoShea and Jake Temple of New Orleans, LA. Ladonna and Cameron Johnson of Atlanta, GA: and a host of other cousins, relatives and friends.
