Shirley May Ellis was born on April 25, 1945 in Devereux, Georgia to the late Henry and Everene Ingram. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Hunts Chapel A.M.E. Church in Sparta, Georgia.
Shirley relocated to Cleveland, Ohio in 1963 where she later met and married Joe Ellis on November 5, 1966. To this union two sons were born, Anthony Bernard Sr. and Lavell. Shirley retired from American Greetings after many years of service. She loved sewing, crafts, art, planting flowers and spending time with her family.
Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, husband Joe, two brothers Johnny Alvin Ingram, Eddie Roosevelt Ingram and one sister Bennie Mae Ingram. Shirley leaves to cherish her memory two sons Anthony Sr. (Tamera) and Lavell (LaKisha); three grandchildren, Anthony Jr., Alana and Landen; two sisters Rosa Kendrick and Gladys (Abraham) Mosley. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
