Shirley Tedder, affectionately known by her family as Pridget, was born on November 18, 1938, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Mary and Henry Knight. She was later raised by her mother and stepfather, Charles Tripp. She was one of 13 children.
She attended the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. She was later married to Ralph Tedder, also known as Buddy, until she passed away. They raised four children from this union: Deborah Parker (deceased), Johnny Knight, Sharita Tedder, and Della Thompson.
She was employed at Pyramid Plastics for 19 years until she retired in 1992. After that time, she enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, family, and friends.
Some of her favorite past time hobbies were gardening, cooking, and fishing. She took a lot of pride in sharing her famous sweet potato pies, turkey, and dressing with her family.
Her infectious smile and personality were contagious. She knew no strangers, and she invited everyone to her home and made them feel very comfortable. To know Shirley was to love her. She was the most giving person you would ever meet and would do anything for anyone.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, stepfather, daughter (Debra) sisters: Florida, Frances, Alice, LA Goria, Mary, Carol, and brothers: Henry, Morris, Charles, and Harold.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Ralph; three children, Johnny, Sharita, and Della; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rose and Gloria; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and long-time friends.
Shirley died at Marymount Hospital on May 19, 2023, at 8:58 am, after a lengthy illness.
Humbly submitted by the family.
